Most often seen in pictures of the Washington Monument, The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is situated directly east of the Lincoln Memorial and west of The Capitol.
The statue of Abraham Lincoln faces the reflecting pool, which is over a third of a mile long, 167 feet wide. The pool is about 18 inches deep on the sides, 30 inches deep in the middle, and is surrounded by large and lush shade trees.
