True Blue Golf Course on Pawleys Island, SC
Constructed by Mike Stranz upon land that once served a rice and indigo plantation, True Blue has been voted one of the best 50 golf courses in the Myrtle Beach area as well as one of the best public golf courses in the country by famed Golf Digest Magazine.
The landscaping is spectacular and plays into the surrounding areas quite well. The greens are well manicured and the bunkers brimming with fresh sand. The elevations make for a challenging round of golf while the huge fairways give you plenty of opportunities to make par or better. Opened in 1998, True Blue Golf Course was a true force to be reckoned with the demanding holes. In the past few years some modifications have been made to make the course more approachable for golfers.
While this golf course provides plenty of challenge to your golf swing, particularly the last four and the first four holes, there are some in between that provide a bit of a break. However, the game of golf you find here is primarily for players with mid- to low handicaps. Regardless of your golfing talents, it is well worth a few rounds to view the surrounding land areas and breathe in the salty, tangy sea air.
Keep in mind that the True Blue Golf Course is public and therefore is subject to particular open and close times. Should you wish to golf while on Pawleys' Island, you might want to consider planning ahead and calling True Blue for a desired time slot.
