Great Smoky Mountains National Park near Nashville, TN

Smoky Mountain travelers will enjoy plenty of great hiking and camping opportunities at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Travel from one side of the park to the other and take in the lush atmosphere of trees, plant growth and wildlife. Public transportation is limited, but there is a small trolley service that travels from Gatlinburg.

There is no entry fee in the park, which is part of the original mandate and charter provided at the park's origin. The regular functions of the park are financed by small fees at each of the campgrounds and programs that are provided by the park's volunteers and Park Rangers. There is one existing lodging shelter in the area that can be found by way of the LeConte Lodge.
